I suffer from a lot of Rhinitis and sereve allergy from cigarette smoke, pollution, strong aerosol smells. I bought this Airwash. It really works...I wish I had this device all my life. I would normally shy away from certain places because of detectable odours such as heavy perfumes and cigarette smoke. Yesterday I walked on a busy polluted street for half an hour with the Airwash around my neck, I did not have to take an antiallergy pill or spray yesterday. Odours and strong smells do not completely go away, but somehow I did not fall ill. I guess it prevents harmful irritants from entering the nostrils. I'm very sensitive to ozone so I had to first return an Air Supply Mini-Mate AS180 because the ozone was too much for me. This unit is perfect for me. I flew a roundtrip on United. No problem with airline staff. I am usually very much bothered by the jet fuel and engine fumes whenever I fly so I wanted an ionizer-purifier. When I wore it to fly, I felt very well during my flights. This unit is comfortable, light, effective, with excellent battery life. Love that it's rechargeable. I leave it hanging up charging in my car so it's with me whenever I need it. I like to use it in traffic when the road fumes really get inside the car. Worth it just for the car. I do notice a difference when I'm wearing this device. I should have purchased the white model and not the black. I find it's helpful for musty situations, pollen and even being around people who wear too many perfume or essential oils. You still smell them but it's not overpowering anymore. I do wish there was a little fan so the cleaner air would be circulated around my mouth and nose but I imagine that would make noise. I like how silent this device is. You can't hear a thing unless you put it up against your ear and then you hear the faintest push sound. I can use it beside my bed at night and not hear a thing. If you want something to help make life a bit more bearable when suffering from allergies it's worth every penny.

I just returned from a hectic, 3-week trip to Japan that involved two int'l flights, 2 domestic flights, more than a dozen long trips on trains, several trams, subways and crowded areas - ALL made healthier by wearing my Airwash purifier. I took this on a trip to Disney World and wore it on both my 5 hour flights as well as in the parks. It took some getting used to at first because it doesn't completely eliminate smells or really change anything about your experience traveling.
